Meet Your Trainer…

Hi my name is Harriet McCarthy, dog lover, animal enthusiast and trainer. I have an extended dog training career spanning ten years in puppy training, service dogs, and scent dogs.

My training journey started even before I was born… My grandmother was a champion gun dog trainer and breeder in Co. Meath, Ireland. I feel like my love for dogs and my training skills are in my blood! Working side by side with her, watching her, and learning her techniques ignited my passion for dog training.

Whilst living in London, for the last 30 years, I owned my own dog walking company and then decided to further my career to train service dogs for veterans and people with disabilities in the United States. During Covid-19 I decided to move back to the UK, where my family lives, to continue my training education in a new field…

I completed training with Scent Work UK which has been set up to promote and develop nose work as a dog sport and training activity throughout the United Kingdom.

Now resident back in the US I look forward to applying all of mytraining skills for the wellbeing of dogs and owners living in and around Vero beach…my new home!
